These adapted abridgments of philosophical classics are the cornerstone of Adapted Philosophy, indeed, its very reason for existing.

I want to stress that these abridgments are not“philosophy for dummies,” or “philosophy made simple.” They are intended for readers who, had they been born a hundred years earlier, might easily have read and enjoyed the original versions.
